Work in Progress of cat painting, a photo

Here's a photo of "The Diplomat" in progress. I like to work the whole surface from dark to light. (Meaning painting all darks everywhere gradually working up to lighter values.) But it is not uncommon for me to kinda keep going on one part, like I did here with Coco. At this point, Coco is almost complete...  I thought the background pattern might be difficult to paint, so having colors on Coco figured out helped to gauge colors/values for that.  (See the complete painting, here.)  His gray fur can be warmed up or cooled down depending on setting... Always interesting to paint.

You can find more paintings in progress from start to finish on my Pinterest board, titled "Work in Progress."  Here's the link.

Side note to blog subscribers:  Notice anything missing from yesterday's post, like the actual post?!  The transition from Feedburner to Mailchimp continues.  Hopefully, this one goes through ok, thank you for your patience!
