St Patrick's Day DISCOUNTS

St Catrick, Oil on panel, 8" x 8," (framed) DISCOUNTED! $285. SOLD
Happy St Patrick's Day! Hard to imagine, this time last year I was painting the Holiday Cat series?! Seems like a loooong time ago. So much has changed since then with our move...(happily for the better.)

"St Catrick" was the first one to post and it remains one of my favorites.  How 'bout HALF OFF on all remaining Holiday Cat paintings? (Update: Sorry and thank you, the Holidays Cats are sold out.) That's a bit 'o fun on ST Patrick's day, check 'em out,  here.  "St Catrick" includes a solid wood frame. Cheers!

Holiday Cats! Valentine's Day Cat

Valentine's Day Cat  Oil on panel, 8" x 8,"  $285.  SOLD
Valentine's Day Cat, before and after tweaking
The last of the Holiday Cats...  I hope you enjoyed them.  I really liked this project on so many levels. I took my time planning them. ...and I didn't post them one by one as soon as they were finished, which allowed time to tweak them before posting.
Also, for some reason, writing several blog posts in a row is much easier than doing one at the end of a long day painting? Not to mention the brainstorm of ideas I now have for future paintings, holiday and otherwise. Thank you for reading!

Holiday Cats! New Year's Cat

New Year's Cat  Oil on panel, 8" x 8,"  SOLD
If you are looking for a kitten, Spring is the time to do it!  Many kittens at the shelter this time of the year.  "New Year's Cat" model was initially photographed at the Cleveland Animal Protective League.  If you are local to Cleveland, OH, it's a great place to find a furry companion.

Holiday Cats! Christmas Kitten

Christmas Cat  Oil on panel, 8" x 8,"  $330.  SOLD
Kitty elf booties!!  It's true what Tony Robbins said "Where focus goes, energy flows." I'm tempted to do more silly paintings of cats... and I feel energized by the design aspect of this series!

Holiday Cats! Thanksgiving Cat

Thanksgiving Cat  Oil on panel, 8" x 8," NFS
This Holiday Cat was the most difficult to design.  I wanted to avoid pilgrim and indian motifs. The cornucopia basket with more generalized "Fall" props seemed fitting.  ...and a black cat because I hadn't included one in the series yet. Though I'm not sure this painting really says "Thanksgiving." Tomorrow: a white kitten Christmas elf. :)

Holiday Cats! Halloween Bat Cat

Halloween Bat Cat  Oil on panel, 8" x 8,"  SOLD
This painting cracks me up. Maybe my favorite in the Holiday Cat series. When I designed it, I didn't plan pointy ears, the widow's peak or goatee.  Those happened as I painted.  Too fun.

Holiday Cats! July 4th, Independence Day Patriotic Cat

July 4th Cat, Oil on panel, 8" x 8,"  $285.  SOLD
I am a quote junkie. I post them on Pinterest and the bulletin board by my desk.  My 2017 calendar had cat inspired quotes.  Nothing beats a short true statement, extra points awarded for humor and/or inspiration.  When I discovered that one of my awesome collectors utilizes quotes in her work, I had to share.
Anne Choi hand makes sterling silver beads. They are stand alone gorgeous and also provide wonderful centerpieces for more intricate bracelets and necklaces. I especially love the
old world Arts & Crafts vibe of her designs.   (I have two of her exquisite beads: "Let us then be up and doing, with a heart for any fate." William Wadsworth Longfellow and “What greater gift than the love of a cat.” Charles Dickens)  If you are a jewelry maker, her beads are a a must see!

Holiday Cats! Easter Cat

Easter Cat  Oil on panel, 8" x 8,"  SOLD
More from my new series of paintings, Holiday Cats! Going in order, Easter follows St. Patrick's Day.  It's a cat with bunny ears! Mmph, I'm scheduling posts and I realize with horror, I forgot to paint a Thanksgiving cat. That cat would be scheduled for this Wednesday (after July 4th and Halloween cats....) So, back to the studio. I think I can get it done in time...

Hope to see you there.

Holiday Cat I Halloween Coco

Halloween Coco  Oil on panel, 6" x 6," SOLD
File this one under to be continued.  I started a series called Character Cats a little while back... It goes on, but instead of character cats, they're gonna be Holiday Cats. It was fun trying out the new paints on this one. More to follow as I find time.

Shorthair Pirate, character cat no. 2

Shorthair Pirate  Oil on wood, 8" x 8,"  SOLD
This cat's devastating good looks are exceeded only by his lust for adventure on the high seas. "Shorthair Pirate" is an avid connoisseur of scratching posts, yellow eyed rockfish and fine tobacco.
Coco had to be the pirate...  Maybe a Siamese cat for the Sous Chef.  :)

Domestic Punk, character cat no. 1

Domestic Punk  Oil on wood, 8" x 8,"  NFS
"Domestic Punk" will act like she means to cut you.  She will take a dramatic, hissing swipe -claws extended.  Though her aim is precise, she never makes contact.  It's just a show.
Maybe the start of a new (on and off again) series I will call "character cats."  ...this painting is a practice run.
