Russy a portrait of my nephew
This is an 8" x 10" painting of my nephew. The last time I painted him (four years ago) I didn't get a good likeness, but me thinks I nailed it this time. Also included a picture of him and his older brother earlier this summer. The mohawk and smile are aaaall him.
This looks awesome, they are so cute!
ReplyDeleteThis is so flippin' fantastic! Yay!
ReplyDeleteI'll say you NAILED IT!! this is just wonderful Diane! the soft richness you create works so well in portraits! his hair is just amazing and that dash of highlight on his bottom lip is just perfect. This is going straight into my inspiration folder! Bravo!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! In addition to the sweet sensitive expression, the skin tones are delicate and the background works beautifully to offset the portrait. Highlight at the back of the head and ear are just so perfectly animating! (Not sure what I mean by that exactly, but somehow that light adds more life and energy to this boy)
ReplyDeleteWow! Beautiful portrait and boy. My Dad and two brothers are red heads so this one hits close to home.
ReplyDeleteSo nicely done. The lock of hair standing up, the highlights, pose, all gorgeous as always. Love your work.
ReplyDeletePortrait in red! Love the copper highlights though out . Great!
