Peacock Floral red tulips fruit still life painting

Peacock Floral  Oil on wood  11" x 14"  NFS
Depending on use, a fan brush can enhance or obliterate previous brushwork.  I'm pretty sure the peacock and full moon "tapestry" background here was competing for attention --and not in a good way-- I took a fan brush to it... I think I'm satisfied with the results but reminded again to proceed with caution with this brush!

  1. So beautiful, Diane! I have to admit, every time you do a clear glass vase it makes my heart skip a beat. I hope to own an original of yours with a clear glass vase included one day. I just love your highlights and the colors you paint inside the glass, along with everything else you paint, of course. :)

  2. Love the bold color of the tulips. Sometimes it is good to take the risk. Here I think it makes one aware of all the elements in the painting

  5. It's sort of the the Blur function on Photoshop... However without the undo button !
Painting is like riverboat gambling at times .But it made the Peacock background recede very nicely
