In my heart of hearts, my ultimate dream is to have one or three shows a year, each becoming "sold out." I don't even care where the shows take place, as long as the work is appreciated and purchased.
This dream isn't a requirement for happiness, but it does provide a sort of agenda around which I plan my painting time.
I am so pleased to announce my participation in a two person exhibit at the most awesome Local Girl Gallery in Lakewood, OH. My fellow exhibitor will be Mike Guyot (guy-it) who does brilliant architectural paintings. See his graphic designs and a selection of his paintings on his website, here. The opening is April 10th between 6 and 9pm. The exhibit runs just past Mother's Day until May 16th. Lately I've been making an effort to "change up" my floral still lifes in size and with the addition of toys and cats... This blog is the first place to see my new paintings, but the show at LGG will be a perfect opportunity to buy one! I'm sure I'll blab about it more as the date approaches.
In other news, a greeting card company purchased the rights on several paintings for use on cards! Four of the paintings chosen hang in my dear collector's homes... If your painting was chosen, I'll be sure to let you know next week sometime.
Yes, today is news day. I've been sitting on the following news forEVER. But here you go: Target will be test marketing one or more of my poppy paintings as posters or canvas prints this year sometime... I don't know when and I don't even know exactly which paintings. This much anticipated event has been a loooong time in the making. Suffice it to say my poster publisher, Editions Limited put the deal together and I will share more when it actually happens.
But wait, there's more! No, not really. That's all the news on this end. (:
WOW, good for you!!! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteDont' know what happened to the comment I just tried to make, but... CONGRATULATIONS! All your hard work is paying off! Enjoy this, Diane... you deserve it!
