The White Lilies

The White Lilies  Oil on wood  16" x 16"  NFS
I'm awarding myself extra points for this painting because it's big (relative to what I normally paint!)  I found myself getting a little mired in details...  and next time around must remind myself (again) to lay down big shapes first.  I've painted several variation on these lilies.  Here's a link to one of the first ones.  This might be my favorite...

Leave it to me to take hundreds of pictures of amazing, exotic animals at the Cleveland Zoo--and then get inspired by the sparrows.  Heehee.

Purple Swirl Cat small original oil painting

Purple Swirl Cat  Oil on cradled wood  6" x 6"  SOLD
This one could be called "experiments with a fan brush." I'm very attached to the Filberts and rounds, but a fan brush can be handy when painting fur.

The Gray Cat 6"x6" oil painting

The Gray Cat  Oil on cradled wood  6" x 6"  SOLD
My dear Mother came over for lunch last Friday.  She helped me do a bunch of stuff including gessoing panels.  Thanks, Mom!!

She brought me a surprise too, something she saved from my childhood.  (?!)  Upon presenting it, she proclaimed in a dramatic fashion  "the one that started it all."  Heehee, good times.  She's the best!

Daffodils on Pattern original Hoeptner oil painting

Daffodils on Pattern  Oil on cradled wood  8" x 8"  SOLD
It's interesting to go back to painting flowers (which are very much in my comfort zone) after painting so many cats and critters.  These daffodils were a joy to paint.   I'm very happy this one!
