Coco Cat on Swirl a new cat painting

Coco on Swirl  Oil on wood, 8" x 8,"  SOLD
Sweet painting day today.  ...and notes to myself on why "Coco on Swirl" works:

Toning the board red for this painting integrated all the colors and made for a nice color harmony. "Edges" where colors are different and values are the same can and sometimes should disappear. Finally,  the "bones show" and it's because I didn't overwork it and that makes it interesting.

    This is so wonderful, for all the reasons you mentioned and more. The pattern swirling in the background appears more atmosphere than backdrop, beaming from his striking eyes. Is Coco a mystic?
