King Oil on wood 16" x 16" Reserved for Cat Art Show | Los Angeles |
When curator, Susan Michals suggested I submit paintings for consideration, artists exhibiting included Tracey Emin, Gary Baseman, FAILE, Shepard Fairey and Ray Caesar. She stressed the importance of cats as "muse" and explicitly discouraged employing the "cute." Getting in the show then occupied my every waking moment, most of it spent furiously painting. I painted three big (for me) paintings, two got in and I couldn't be more thrilled. I will be blathering about this show again and most likely attending the opening, so stay tuned!
