Yes, we're experiencing difficulty getting "in the groove" this week. Despite being relatively happy with "Lemon Daisies" I gotta say it wasn't a walk in the park. I tried painting the vase first thinking I'd paint everything else around it piecemeal, big fail! I ended up repainting parts to adjust values--but eventually had to paint the whole thing over again anyway.
Diane I so admire your work. This is lovely. Agree that the reflective stripe pops the painting. Glad you shared your challenges. I know it is what we all experience but I see each of your paintings as such a triumph of pattern I think of it pouring out onto the canvas for you.
Perhaps you inadvertently scheduled it for publish at a later date? I've done that before (when I was blogging), regardless, the painting is lively and welcoming. :) xo
Loren, no I didn't!! I'm quite sure. I don't know what it was... Had me in a bit of a panic this morning, but I've tweaked a few things and we'll see if evil elves running the internet get one past me again in the future.
That was obviously it, Diane, evil elves! :) You're a pro, and if I may say so, I love seeing your work wind up in my inbox any day--even if it's a repeat. :) Always a welcome sight. xo
your hard work paid off, it looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that stripe in the tablecloth leading into a reflection in the pitcher. Gorgeous painting, Diane!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out lovely!
