Sparrow on Swirl small original oil painting

Sparrow on Swirl  Oil on cradled panel  6" x 6"  SOLD
I like to believe that the paintings that "paint themselves" are almost always better.  ...that somehow because they are a walk in the park to paint--they are easier on the eyes too.  This one here was a bit of a struggle.  I don't think it shows though?!  In fact, it might be one of my favorites from this series.

    Beautiful! Definitely doesn't show because this guy is very easy on the eyes! Love his placement on the pattern.

    I was waiting in a parking lot yesterday. I was parked next to a little tree and two of 'your' birds perched there & preened. I thought very fondly of your artwork for those 10 minutes as I studied them. Good job!

    I like how the background pattern is reminiscent of bird feathers. Was this by chance or by design?

    I also like how these little birds have lots of personality but are not cutesy at all. Well done!
