Fennec in Sun orange cat on pattern painting

Fennec in Sun  Oil on cradled wood  8" x 8"  SOLD

Jala Pfaff's sweet & sleepy cat Fennec.  Making pattern look convincing is challenging.  Most times, I mimic shadows that can be found in the reference photo by making parts of the pattern darker.  Here, there was a patch of light in Jala's photo (on the left) which was painted brighter.

    Wonderful! I love the colors and that subtle bit of light coming from behind with the tiniest bit of shadow on the pattern. Lovely!
