Coco on Purple gray cat on pattern painting

Coco on Purple  Oil on cradled wood  8" x 8"  nfs
A pensive looking Coco kitty before I get back to the all consuming Ranunculus again.  I've been experimenting with using a very thin layer of WS stand oil on my boards before applying paint.  It really helps smooth paint application.  But too much can make the surface slippery and thins the paint more than I like...  Just a little bit does the trick.

  1. Coco kitty looks quite fetching with all the maroon-ish tones worked through his fur.! Really neat pattern, too.

Thanks for the tip about the stand oil; I have been having constant problems with my oils not spreading easily on the boards, and I can't seem to find a medium that works well for me. Liquin works, sort of, but dries far too fast. So, stand oil sounds worth a try!
