You all are probably sick of hearing me rant about wanting to paint bigger. Well, this Spring I'm gonna do it. I know my definition of "big" isn't that grand. At 10x10, "Bloom Alert" might be considered a practice run for a lot of artists...but it's a start. The plan is to re-iterate new versions of my smaller daily paintings, since they take longer to paint--posts may be a little sporadic. (:
ohhhh- the reflected lights on Coco's fur is exquisite- (they bounce back some of that wall color so delicately!) gorgeous! And yeah, I totally get what you're saying about painting bigger- it's like an aerobic marathon feat for me- any thing over 12"x12" feels gargantuan! It's fun, but exhausting!! I think part of it is - when I paint small, I'm usually sitting (if it's in my studio anyway), standing outside. But if I'm painting large- I'm always standing, walking, etc. I put in a lot of mileage when I paint large!
Nice job on the perspective. And the fur is so very pettable. Jut lovely!
ReplyDeleteI meant JUST lovely-but I guess you knew that.
