Holy cow! - the light cresting the tops of his ears & upper planes of his face are such a wonderful contrast to the lost edges of his lower body that drift into that "mystery of shadow"!! Wonderful - incredible depth (and all in a 6x6"!!)
Great painting, Di, but not quite realistic. I think you need to make a painting of the cat knocking the flowers off the table. Now that'd be realistic! Heck, do a whole series: cat eating flowers, cat knocking off flowers, cat looking innocent as he saunters away from the mess....
Captain Jack killed a wiseman from my nativity set around Christmas time. Pushed him right off the mantel. Pretended he had no idea what I was hollering about as I watched the icon crash to the floor.
