As part of a recent re-organization, I made a pile of paintings that need to be re-painted/fixed or sanded back down to panel.  I also destroyed a bunch of old work.  Getting rid of old paintings can be really difficult!  But doing it reinforced the notion (to me) that my best painting is happening right now.  Looking forward is more important that trying to preserve the past.  Meanwhile my storage room is a model of organization...it's feeling like a good start to the new year.
