Still putting things in order for my show at the Shoreby Club: labels, signage & making sure everything is ready to hang!
Painting the 12x12s really gave me a taste for painting big(ger-for me!) I wonder how this will affect my ability to post daily. ...not to mention the question: Do people buy medium size paintings online? And is painting "bigger" such a brilliant idea with the holiday season just five minutes away?
This painting is so beautiful! I love the complimentary color sheme.
ReplyDeleteI love this! I love all the cheery yellows, it makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteHmm, you ask a lot of good questions about the sizes of paintings. I think you're going to have to paint both sizes and just see how it goes. After a few medium sized paintings you might just be ready for some of the smaller ones. Please let us know how the medium ones sell on-line.
Glad my last post made you laugh!!!
Joan
Looks like sunshine! Very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDiane 12 x 12's are so popular at the moment and I am sure your lovely work will sell. The best thing about 12 x 12's is that four of them make up a bigger square and look so good together as a set. The sunflowers in a small vase look so nice, lovely idea to trim those stems for the still life.
ReplyDeleteLove this one Diane, I'm sure it will sell no matter the size!
ReplyDeleteGreat painting!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet most people never realize how much time we spend putting things together for shows.... and the kind of shows like the one you're doing are incredibly time consuming and physically taxing.
I'm sure you'll do very well... Wonderful work!!!
Love this painting! Your brushwork and colors are spot-on. Hard question regarding the size of paintings. The smaller ones seem to sell more easily, but the larger ones are soooo fun! I think every artist needs to keep the "larger picture" in mind, and I don't mean size of the canvas or panel. As an artist we need to paint the way, the size, the colors, the uniqueness that is our own. We need to honor what feels right for us to do. If it feels right for you to paint larger, go for it!
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me to paint some Sunflowers!
ReplyDeleteNice work Diane.
The way you have with the color yellow is amazing...
ReplyDeleteSome people only buy small paintings, but some only buy large ones! I think you, with your beautiful style, can't miss no matter what.
This is such a beautiful painting, Diane. Love the stripes.
ReplyDeletethis is beautiful! great work with the light in this one. i like painting bigger because i can always get way more detail in. and i like the rush of working on a long time project, and striving to finally finish it!
ReplyDeletevery beautiful, Diane. The colors and the composition are soberb.
ReplyDeleteLove the stripes in this one. Your sunflowers are always great.
ReplyDeleteI love those stripes behind the sunflowers...your love of sunflowers is always evident in your romantic rendering. ;o)
