These began as companion pces to the pair of sunflower paintings I posted previously. It's funny though: I almost went back in to tweak the sunflowers but forced myself to paint something new. ...and somehow all the fixes I had wanted to do to the sunflowers went into these magnolias. I LOVE how these paintings turned out despite the fact that they now look totally un-related to the sunflowers. Now, I'm thinking to do a pair of tulip companions for the magnolias.
Diane I just love the palette on this pair! I can see why you're proud of them.
ReplyDeleteDiane, Love your floral pairs! They make such a strong statement! Just stunning!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these Magnolias! Your colors are wonderful and your brush strokes create fabulous movement and energy. The Sunflowers loss; Magnolias gain.
ReplyDeleteVery elegant Diane...I love the sunflowers too!
ReplyDeleteI love all your flower paintings, Diane. But I think the Magnolia is the most elegant of all flowers. Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful are these??? Very oriental in how delicately painted they are, and in the colors too. Yes - do do the tulips! Perhaps you will end up with a threesome by incorporating harmonies of the magnolias & sunflowers. Can't wait to see what you decide!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely breathtaking!!! I love the colors. Great composition.
ReplyDeleteI love to see how you create your paintings, Diane, and I loved to see this one.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pairs! Love both the magnolias and the sunflowers. Tulips or maybe triplets.... :-D
ReplyDeleteI love this diptych!!! It is gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteAnd although the sunflowers are lovely... this is magnificent!!
Love these, and the sunflower pair below as well.
