Painting pet portraits has a special vibe all it's own. Likeness is important, but not a dealbreaker. You try to capture the spirit of the animal... and an earnest attempt will most likely bring great joy to the recipient... a refreshing endeavor to say the least.
Diane,
ReplyDeleteYou really captured Petal's spirit in this one! Thank you so much for painting her. This brings back so many memories of when we first found her and how sweet and lost she was.
I really like the simplicity of your brushwork and you captured her eyes so wonderfully. :)
Oh my gosh!! She is soooo cute!! You captured such an expressive face. I love your brush strokes on her fur. The whole painting is just wonderfully happy!!
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy busy busy! What a wonderful surprise to find all sorts of beautiful and unique paintings! Sorry for being away. I am again amazed and in awe of the depth and breadth or your talents.
ReplyDeleteThis is so adorable. You captured the personality of this breed perfectly!!!
ReplyDeletePetal is precious, Diane!
ReplyDeleteI just finished a portrait of a soft- coated Wheaton, painting fur is fun!
Hi, Diane,
ReplyDeleteYour photo is beautiful as are each of your paintings! The painting of Suzi & Larry's dog captures her big eyes and unfailing curiosity. What a treasure!
I love the unique look of your babies gently held within petals of flowers. What a great idea!
I'm so happy to hear about your marriage.
All good wishes to you in whatever endeavors you undertake!
