Two summers ago Robert Genn wrote about "control" in his weekly essay on art. His words stuck with me until this day... Here's a link. He pointed out the importance of controlling those things one can control. ...without being an "ogre" or a "patsy." I don't pretend or even try to control very much, but painting is an exception. This morning I re-worked a "wiped" painting and it felt wonderful to rescue it from the burn pile.
Oh this is really beautiful. Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that hot red and hot magenta side by side. Soooo glad you gave this one another go. Thanks for showing a bit of your painting process. I would love to see how you accomplish your wonderfully soft yet realistic style.
ReplyDeleteNice colors, Dianne.
ReplyDeleteWow, nice save. It's fantastic!
ReplyDeleteneat to see the process on this one...
ReplyDeleteAND you did it with great success. Isn't it great to take something from that pile and really complete it? Fabulous!
ReplyDeletenothing like a successful rescue to make your day. I love these colors together and always plant magenta and orange impatiens together because the colors are so dynamic together. I'll bet you do the same thing!
ReplyDeleteNice brushwork, too.
