I complained about how difficult it is to paint this type of flower a few weeks ago... But I've been wanting to try a bleeding red on gray color combo and these alstromerias were perfect. Will definitely follow with more exploration on this as time permits. This painting is better in life.

  3. Graceful, dynamic! This painting seems to mark a special event, even if it doesn't--it has a momentous feeling about it! I can't quite put my finger on the feeling this is evoking in me. First love or perhaps a lost love?

Whatever it is: I'm hooked. I am always excited to run here and find your latest creation!

  4. Well if it's better in life, it must be mind blowing because I thought it was outstanding as it is. Love the way you rendered the water and the line of the dipping bloom across from the rising one is wonderful.

  6. This is wonderful, I love the green and red combination. You've got a great diagonal composition too, which somehow makes this painting dynamic in addition to being graceful and beautiful. Well done!!!

  7. Hi Diane,
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I've enjoyed reading through yours and looking at your oil paintings. I'm fairly novice at oils so it's nice to see your work. Love your brushwork and color sense. Very nice!

  8. This still life work is so beautiful. Realistic with soft brush strokes give it that dreamy yet crisp effect. And the vibrant red hues of these flowers really stand out.
