Fellow Art Bloggers: Does the obligation to say something interesting interfere with your blogging pleasure? I find myself laboring over certain entries. Rules do apply: No art-speak, no bad mouthing my own work, if I'm really happy with a painting I try not to use the word "love" more than three times, heh, and no writing about projects before they actually happen. Furthermore, it seems like the most interesting thing that happens to me some days is my studio time. ...and how many times can you rave about that? Ideally, my paintings would speak for themselves: "I'm incredibly exciting" "I sneak up on you" and "I have eye popping qualities." On a related note: I love, love, love this painting.
It's beautiful, Di.
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way, yes I know about not knowing what to write about. I'm stuck with the idea that I must have a theme for my blog, but then most writing ideas that often float through my head don't fit that theme. Ugh.
But maybe you could help me out, hmmmm? ;-) Email me.
Hi Diane, great post! I love this one too, I like the way the sunflower looks like it sees something interesting and is trying to get close to see it.

Another comment after thinking about not only this painting but your others: You are able to give your flowers PERSONALITY, that is so remarkable to be able to do!!! But that's one of the things that is so captivating about your paintings.

I too love this painting!
ReplyDeleteExcellent post, Diane. We paint because we don't always have the words, yet we're advised to use words to share out art. Hm, it's an odd world out there.
Hey I resemble that remark. I'll try and keep the 'love's down to a minimum but I really do extremely like your work.
ReplyDeleteNo other words for it....Love love love it!
