The "lime" is for the tablecloth across the bottom. ...a simple sweep of color that makes for quite a dramatic effect?! Not sure if I like it or hate it. More tulips to follow!
Hi, Your paintings are so charming. The strip (horizontal) is needed for grounding your composition and I like it. Considering the theory of complimentary colors, try a more yellow/ochre like color maybe - but at another time if you don't want to fool with this one. Again, you're paintings are wonderful!
oh diane!

I love it! It's a little strip of pure joy. It reminds me of a Van Gogh floral I saw once with a strip of red. Wonderful!

My very favorite color combinations - purple and lime. Love it!
ReplyDeleteHi all, great BIG thanks for the comments on this painting. Yep, it grew on me and I AM happy with it. Gotta love it when that happens.
ReplyDeleteThe hues in your florals are getting stronger and richer almost daily. This one is outstanding!
ReplyDeleteDiane, The green stripe, in my opinion, makes the painting. I love the way you have continued the green idea in the vase. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteI hope you decide you love it - I sure do!
