I mentioned this painting yesterday. It took some scrape-offs and more than a few HOURS to finish. I think adding the second vase with more flowers caused me to paint with entirely too much caution.
In other news: I've been juried into the BAYarts Gallery Holiday Gift Show in Bay Village, OH. The gallery is beautifully situated across the street from Lake Erie in a residential area. It is walking distance from the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center and the Huntington Playhouse. A selection of my small floral still lifes will be available beginning November 26th through the end of December.

OMG! I really love this one, it's the composition that takes it a further step!

Hi Diane - I came across your blog just now and I really like what you do with flowers. I am usually not such a fan, but yours are simple and lovely.
ReplyDeleteTalking about arts is one of the things I am really fascinated at. Thanks for this post. I also want to share a site I have discovered which offers small, free background tiles with ten new ones every week. See here www.pictureseeds.com

Really dig the flower paintings and the playfulness of the toy figure paintings. I like how your colors are getting more confident as well. I can't wait to see what you think up next. Really nice work.
