This painting has ISSUES and I'm aware of 'em.... I am pleasantly surprised by how appealing the muddy greens/grays and pure cadmium red lights are... Since there's a companion piece still to be painted, I will go ahead with that and then start solving everything (on both) when the "bulk" of each is painted.

ReplyDeleteInteresting, Di. I'd actually like to see you paint sometime, as I never have. I'd be interested in how you do underpainting and then how you adjust things. (But what is the bird doing?)
Heck, I'm not even sure what underpainting is...but I'd like to watch you do it. :-b

ReplyDeletePat: The bird is in midflight, looking BACK at the flower. I know bird looks a little twisted--but this bird is a circus bird, trained to do such a thing. Indiaartist: You wouldn't think red would be calming, but in fact in this case it is. Thanks so much, I need to go over to your blog and see what you are doing lately!
