Included with this post, a quickie video of "Orange Tuxi" in the making... Video is 28 seconds long (and captures about three hours.) It's mostly the rough-in--and doesn't include whisker painting and final finessing. If you find the accompanying video useful or entertaining--let me know in the comments. It was fun to do and I can see the potential for better ones happening... Side note to subscribers: I'm not sure how this is gonna look in your email. What a treat to see this beautiful painting come to life Diane. I hope to see more videos like this. A little bit slower would be wonderful!! Excellent work!!
hmuxo-- Husband thought it was too fast too, maybe try a little slower in parts next time, thank you for the feedback! I would LOVE to do a teaching video, Elizabeth. Thanks, Sherry! I kept this one small and simple, was so distracted with getting it on "film." :) Really appreciate your input.
A www....so cool to watch your video! It leaves me with the wish of seeing More! Hope that's your plan. Love your work Diane! This is a wonderful painting!
I vote for better lighting too lol!. How can you painting in shadow? Though often that helps one see the larger shapes more clearly. It simplifies the forms Great! Videos is the natural progression
Susan, I have a (wonderful) french table easel that I love, it was too bulky to get near enough to camera. :) Anne, I agree about the lighting. Thanks all!
While I find all of your paintings to be wonderful, the cat lady in me prefers the amazingly lifelike cat portraits you are known for. This video was a treat to see a work of art come to life and like so many others I would love to see more in the future.

ReplyDeleteI love your easel. Yesterday I was shopping out pricey pochade boxes and here you are making masterpieces just leaning your support on a book.
