A Milestone: I'm in the Cat Art Show | Los Angeles

King   Oil on wood  16" x 16"  Reserved for Cat Art Show | Los Angeles
...Call it a classic case of truth being stranger than fiction or a lucky fluke, but I'm in.  Cat Art Show | Los Angeles will feature two of my paintings in its "contemporary examination of the psychology, inspiration, and physical impact of cats in our lives." The show runs from January 25th to February 2nd at 101/EXHIBIT in Los Angeles.
When curator, Susan Michals suggested I submit paintings for consideration, artists exhibiting included Tracey Emin, Gary Baseman, FAILE, Shepard Fairey and Ray Caesar. She stressed the importance of cats as "muse" and explicitly discouraged employing the "cute."  Getting in the show then occupied my every waking moment, most of it spent furiously painting.  I painted three big (for me) paintings, two got in and I couldn't be more thrilled.  I will be blathering about this show again and most likely attending the opening, so stay tuned!
