Sometimes a painting is about shape and arrangements, sometimes it's just about how the light makes shadows. I would like to try this one again sometime, bigger. In other news, I'm still figuring out which colors provide full opaque coverage and which are more transparent! The dark limey greens in the pottery were a bit on the transparent side... 1. That's a beautiful painting, Diane.
    Great job.

  2. I love this painting, Diane. I am a great fan of shadows! They are the subtle interesting bits...

  3. Very creamy ...and the shadows!..=]

  4. I would agree with the others, it's the shadows in this piece that most appeal to me, and then the rest of it!

  5. This is lovely, the shadows add a lot of drama to the work! There is SO many wonderful things going on in this painting!

  6. It amazes me how you can render so much light, depth and detail on even this smaller size.
