cant.stop.painting.layla
Despite what my sister will tell you I'm not a crazy cat lady . Here's our Layla again. She's sitting on a child's chair my husband and I acquired at a country auction. The chair is covered in chippy green paint-- and it had a really warm evening light on it--Maybe there's too much indian red on the chair and kitty ear. Besides that and a few other details-- I'm actually happy with this one.

Valiant Effort
This old wood Pinocchio doll is very beat up. His hair is broken off in front, where you can see a bit of yellow wood. He's chipped and dinged up pretty good... I'd like to do an all Pinocchio Brady Bunch-Inspired grouping of portraits. But don't cha know, I have have more ideas than time these days. Still experimenting with ways to do underpaintings....and making a valiant (if not successful) stab at staying LOOSE with brushwork.

Not Enough Time in the Day
"I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see." --John Burroughs ...Great art related quotes can be found here: The Painter's Keys
