I grew these sunflowers in the backyard!  The seeds were planted last May and by September they were six feet high.  Fun, fun and perfect subjects for this pair of paintings.

This is one of two paintings, a work in progress.  I toned the board with red and I'm really liking how it peeks through in spots.  Look for both finished paintings here tomorrow.

There are a lot of cows in Berlin, OH.  Lounging, grazing and sometimes coming closer to have a look at the picture taking fool on the side of the road.

My husband and I drove down to Berlin, OH recently.  On the way there, we made an impromptu stop at an outdoor market.  Berlin is amish country and there were many horses, buggies and cars parked in front.  This buggy horse waited patiently for its human to return.

Rolling Harvest three big sunflower paintings

Three big 22x22s today:  I used the new Arches Oil paper for them and it held up very well.  No gesso necessary! 

I painted these by sections, here's a work in progress shot!

Blue Fern Flowers re-worked

Blue Fern Flowers (reworked a bit!)  Oil on paper  each 12" x 12"  NFS

Gave these a suggested boost of blue in the background and enhanced the white petals a bit.
