Yellow Pops Flower Painting
As you can see from the picture, this is a larger version of an 8x8 (better picture of that here...) I like the look of bright yellow flowers on the dull cool gray and I will probably revisit this color combination later. Really sorry for the horrible pictures lately! I'm afraid of handling my larger paintings on paper too much when wet and I figure a quick snapshot is better than nothing. This painting is WAY better in life. It's reserved for a dealer, but if you have an interest in any paintings on this blog, do email me!!

22x22 Flower Painting on Paper
Here's another variation on the painting from yesterday. I've been asked for "bold and vibrant" by my dealer and that's what I'm going for with these. This painting measures 22x22 and it is reserved. If you wish to purchase one similar or any of the work on my blog, please do email me today! diane@dianehoeptner.com

Spring Ahead Flower Painting
I loved this painting the first time around, when it was 8x8. What a joy to paint it again at 22x22. This time it's on paper and it's reserved for a dealer. I hope to paint a few more big ones on paper this week. Click the image to see it bigger!

Flashback to the late 1980's
I mentioned in a previous post--that I couldn't find my old photo albums... Well, guess what?! I found 'em!! Here's a little gander down memory lane: a picture of a designer and I standing on a porch of the Cecil B. DeMille Estate in Los Feliz, CA. (Sorry for the blurry face, I'm out of touch with the designer and thus didn't get his permission to post his picture...) Anyway, we painted the murals here for a design home event... The event showcased a different designer in different areas of the home. What I wouldn't give to be that skinny again. (: I still have those pants. Note the paintbrush slipping out of a hole in front pocket.

More Magnolias

Well the visit to the vet with both cats was dramatic but successful. Coco allowed himself to be handled by a !stranger! ...and besides fleas, both cats were given a clean bill of health. I had been dreading that trip for so long and I'm really glad to have it over with.

Rebel Sunflower Painting

Sometimes being in a hurry crystalizes your intentions and a painting turns out great! This here is not one of those times, heh. (: May re-work it, definitely will re-photograph it, it's not quite as lackluster in life... I'm taking the cats to the vet today. ...and I'm half worried Coco will keel over merely from the stress of leaving the house. We'll see!
