A Rare Appearance
Coco 10" x 8" Oil on Canvas Panel NFSDon't let the suave pose fool you, this tomcat is a nervous nelly who will flee in (un-explainable) terror at any moment. When we first moved into our home, he stayed hidden for three days --inside the basement walls. On a side note, I'm REALLY happy with this painting.

When not painting....
This morning I dropped off 6 paintings to be shown in the Arts Collinwood Gallery through September 14th. The group exhibit will coincide with the Waterloo Arts Festival. Heather Young and the staff there have BIG (and exciting!) plans for the gallery space, including after school art activities for children, open studio events, dance classes and residency opportunities. The gallery is located at 15606 Waterloo Road, Cleveland, OH 44110.
I'm also in the process of creating magic "Purchase Information" Buy it Now buttons... My Ebay Store is newly open --but still a work in progress, need to iron out some kinks there.

Some Good News

The Pop Shop Gallery in Lakewood, OH will be showing 6 of my "toy" paintings as part of a group show entitled: "3rd Annual True Value Vintage Show" in November. I'm totally psyched-- I've shown my color pencil art in many group shows and a couple solo shows, but this is will be a first for my oil paintings.

Nathan in Lake Erie
My nephew, last summer. He has shocking blond hair and odd club shaped hands. Kidding...about the hands. I thought I'd try a painting similar to my color pencil series: children at play. Love the colors, love the composition-- hands and facial features, not so much. May come back to this theme later!

Another Pinocchio Head, Brady Bunch Style
The more I paint, the more ways I discover to mess up a painting. Heheh. And it's interesting, because sometimes the things that will mess a painting up-- are the exact same things that will make it really GOOD. Things I did that may or may not have messed this painting up: Not using more than 3 hours to do it, using only olive green in the underpainting, pushing the shiny high-lites a little harder and restraining myself from over-blending. Actually, I'm not entirely unhappy with it, I guess I'm just realizing how much there is yet to learn.

Valiant Effort, Re-worked
I re-worked this one and now like it much better. More of these to come as I find the time.
