Lucked out at Farmpark in Kirtland, OH last week: they let the chickens out of the coup, woohoo! I was able to photograph them inside the "Well Bred Shed" and outside in natural light... Many great shots were acquired, especially a pair of sweet chickies who I hope to paint later... It got me wondering is a rooster also a chicken? (Yes.) Also, how does one tell the difference between male and female? A common saying among people in the know: "If it crows, it's a rooster, if it lays an egg, it's a hen." This one for SURE crows. :)
