Amish Buggy Horse and reception at Gallery + 78th ST Studios

Amish Buggy Horse  Oil on wood, 11" x 14," NFS
Last night's Gallery + reception at 78th ST Studios was well attended. People tell me their cat stories, they show me pictures of their cats. I enjoy it...and dangit, if I don't enjoy talking about my spaztastic cat. (It's what Hugh MacLeod might call  a "social object," but I digress.)
Beautiful clouds over 78th ST Studios
in Cleveland, OH  last night!
Last night, husband pulled me aside and told me a boy had a question for me.  The boy's family was looking at my paintings.  They looked hip and happy.  (Think: rockstars on vacation in the rustbelt.)  I approached to inquire about the question.  The boy said he liked my 2013 painting "Amish Buggy Horse."  He proceeded to tell a long, sweet and rambling story about learning how to ride a horse at a horse camp, his concern for horses and the particular horse he became attached to.  He described the horse's coloration and markings in detail.  His dad explained that the boy had been heart broken to leave the horse at the end of camp. I never did find out what the question was.  I love my job.

  1. I love your "Amish Buggy Horse" painting too, but don't have a long rambling story to tell you...just that your painting is wonderful!

  2. Diane, you are very sweet and kind. I can't image the parents making an artist listen to all that and not buying the painting or at least a painting lol Call me crabby . I did craft shows and did alot of listening myself.

The horse is great and while you say landscapes are not your thing, you handle them very nicely
