Black Muse a painting of cat and sunflowers

Black Muse  Oil on wood  12" x 12"  SOLD
My painting, "The Fellow" stirred a nice bit of interest in a recent Facebook post.  (It's always such a pleasure when people take notice and comment!)  Thought I'd try a variation, this time around with a darker background.
I'm gonna disappear into the studio for a few days.  I want to make some bigger paintings for a very special local event taking place in October.  More on that soon!

  1. Powerful handling of the eyes and ears on this guy! Great orange and black color scheme for October!

  4. Yes it sure is nice when folks comment. Otherwise, it's difficult to know if we have an audience. It's easy to see why your work generates response, as it is always so lovely. This one is another captivating piece.... yes, those eyes!

  5. This painting captures many of the qualities I love about cats - mysterious, intense, and elegant. The lighting in the eyes is wonderful. Beautiful color scheme, too.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment last weekend!
