Cat Art Show LA

Cat Art Show Los Angeles opened last Saturday night and my husband and I were there for the excitement!  Here's a few pictures.
Champagne provided by Yahoo!
There was a one hour VIP opening that preceded the general opening.
The line to get in was two blocks long!
Me and Cat Art Show LA curator, Susan Michals (with my painting of Coco, "King.")
"Orange Cat" by Nicholas Chistiakov
Photo-op!!  Artists Robert Standish and Shepard Fairey flanking my painting, "The Hunter!"  :)
Gotta love the large archival print, "Glitch Cat (Morris)" by Jill Greenberg on the right!
Michael Wolf "Cat,"  "Kitten" by Ray Caesar and "Breakfast at Lucien's" by Jay Batlle
Control Central!
Husband, me and dear friend Suzi.
"The Marked" by Anita Kunz, "Her Small Pale Hand" by Karen Clark
top right:  art by Rebecca Artemisa   bottom right: “Kraft durch Freude (says Balthus)” by Guy Denning
There was much media coverage of the event and as you can imagine the top artists were well represented...  Of course, I'm partial to the reportage that included my paintings (indulge me.)  Here's an entertaining video that shows my painting of Coco on frame 1:36 via "Life with Cats."  And a sweet write up on "Conscious Cat."

Part of the proceeds from the show will be donated to the Stray Cat Alliance of LA to help "build a no kill nation one stray at a time."  See a video with artist interviews (including Shepard Fairey) on the Stray Cat Alliance website, here.
