Derby Cat painting by Diane Hoeptner

Derby Cat  Oil on wood  8" x 6"  SOLD
This one nearly painted itself.  I "got out of my own way," as the saying goes...and I really like it too.

  1. Isn't it fun when you can "get out of your own way?" It's so exciting when the fewest strokes make the most compelling paintings. Tis one is super!

  2. Breathtaking!... I love the soft white fur, delicate whiskers, the little bit of pink on the nose... and the gaze of her eyes... everything!

  3. There's alot of movement in this one. great! As Debbie said, great fur!
You must have a saber tooth brush for that effect because it's crisp and yet painterly. Fab!

  7. Thanks all! LOL, Chris: I made an executive decision to remove more hairs from my "whisker painting brush" --why I didn't it ages ago, I don't know!! It really helped. Still hold my breath though. :)
