Black Cat on Moon oil painting by Diane Hoeptner

Black Cat on Moon  Oil on wood  8" x 8"  SOLD
My husband and I went to the Cleveland APL the other night:  not ready to adopt yet but wanted to visit.  This black cat immediately captured my attention.  He was very hungry for attention, rail thin and a total darling, the kind of cat who would never leave your side...  I took many pictures, you'll likely see him again.

  1. Ooooh - you must adopt that cat! He looks exactly like my Morticia! I love the painting! Please please please adopt that little guy so you will paint more black cats : - ) Your Coco would love him for a little companion!

  2. Hey Diane! Oh, go get him! You know you want to! If not, some other bright young thing will snap him up! He'll be happy either way, but you'll regret it =( Indigo x

  3. I love this Diane - I had a black kitty named Newt (after the little girl character from the movie 'Alien'). She was such a little teacup kitty when we picked her out of a box at the grocery store in the Colorado mtns. The sweetest kitty - very smart and crafty at the same time. This kitty so reminds me of her.

  4. How adorable is he? I have a friend who lost her cat the same week that you did and she told me she was "just looking" too! lol

  5. I went to "look" as well when I visited the shelter and came home with the most adorable Italian greyhound/Chihuahua dog!! I said I wasn't going to adopt right away. Take her home, Diane!!! Now, before you lose her!
Then we can have a "name that cat" post..LOL

  7. What a wonderful painting!- It has the feel of some vintage illustrations from great storybooks from childhood- the kind of tales that stay with you (Because of those illustrations....do you have books like that from childhood?). Love this...I think you have a new furry friend!!
