Flower Fields pair of decorative paintings

Flower Fields I  Oil on paper  12" x 12"  NFS
Flower Fields II  Oil on paper 12" x 12"  NFS
I've been trying to shake off what feels like a bit of a "slump."  Wanting to paint these got me back in the studio--Although, they turned into paint sketches once I got going....  Rather than fully developed paintings.  More soon hopefully.

  1. I'm glad to know such an accomplished painter as yourself has a slump occasionally. I'm sort of there myself right now. That's when I paint something I've done before and know I can do.

  2. Sorry you are in a slump, Diane. Perhaps you need a little break. Hope it is soon over and you are back in the studio!!

  3. Hi Diane! I've been trying to find my mojo artistically for a while; I have to be in a very specific headspace for it to work. I published as picture yesterday, but it needed a lot of digital work and manual rework and swearing before it was done. Yours are way better! =) Indigo x

  5. I love the new pair of florals! It's fantastic how you put the violet/dark rose color against that more subdued peach/orange and beige color in the background. And the yellow and blue against each other too! A feast for the eyes!

  6. I really like "Flower Fields I". The pattern on the background object is neat and not centered in the work. Love blue sky on both sides. Could be a right to left thing or the way it's divided up...just don't know. Really nice.
