The Dragon Cat small original Hoeptner oil painting

The Dragon Cat  Oil on cradled wood, 10" x 10"  NFS
The light here was so pretty, cool tones on the left and warm on the right.  Coco's gray fur is endlessly interesting to paint.

  3. Diane,
I love this painting! I was struck by the beautiful cool tones on the left, even the coolness of the left side of the wallpaper and the green of the left eye, contrasted with the warmth of the right sided fur, the gold right eye and the brighter greens of the wallpaper. Then I read your comment and saw that you were thinking the same thing! Truly a little gem, so well-composed and painted.

  5. Beautiful, Diane. You nailed the depth of the eyes, and again, there's a "coiled spring" feel to it. Indigo
