Pear Still Life with grapes and tapestry pattern

Painting a background that enhances and supports your focal point can be challenging.  I've painted these pears before, here.  This time around I really wanted to push the background back.

  3. Looks like when you push stuff further into the background, you mute the background a bit and create harder lines around your subjects in the foreground. Yes? I should have Nate take a look at these two.
