Dragonfly Zinnias I & II original painting Hoeptner

Dragonfly Zinnias   Acrylic & Oil on wood   each 10" x 10"  NFS
Yes, I'm still messing with the acrylics.  The zinnias above are based on photographs my friend Maria sent me.  They grow in her garden in Culver City, CA.  I'm afraid I "blanched" them for design purposes, but next time around we'll try them in full color.  Thanks again for the pictures, Maria!

  1. Excellent work! Love the stylized brown outline and the way the flowers pop off of the graphic background. These Zinnas and the white lilies would make really great prints!

  2. Diane, has Neiman Marcus called you to license your paintings for their drapes and bedspreads yet? Oh my, this is amazing. I think you have really hit your stride, though I have always loved your work.

  4. Diane--Your work is joyful--makes me feel happy just to look at it. I am thinking it is a reflection of the gal that paints 'em..just sayin..:) Loved reading your interview over on the Daily Painter's Blog today. Good stuff!

  5. Fantastic painting! The brown showing around the edges looks amazing, and I love the fern like green leaves in the background.

  8. Your work absolutely should be on wallpaper and linens. The paintings are so beautiful. Reminds me of William Morris wallpaper and gift wrap. Keep painting!
