Just a quick note today: Yes I'm back. I spent last week doing busy work around the house and getting over the trauma of losing so many paintings in the storm. Among my busy work, a shelf was designated for still life props. Of course once that was done I had to go out and get more props including the little white porcelain kitty shaped creamer above...
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who emailed me directly and commented on the blog post before this one. Having the input of so many talented and vibrant artists and collectors is a treasured blessing to me. Not sure how "Mother Nature's Smack Down" will shape my future. I'm still sitting on the fence with regards to future outdoor shows. One thing for sure: My desire to paint is still strong and I count that as a blessing too.

  4. Diane, you're stronger than any disappointment. Your art is a fire that burns bright within you. No one can extinquish that flame.
Nothing can stop its brilliance from shining. It grows stronger with every brushstroke. Your talent develops and improves with every painting. New work is better than the old. Great artists don't get stuck in thoughts that hold them back, but grow with every new-found insight and motivation. This is your goal.

    Now is your time.
    Go get 'em, tiger ~

  6. Hello Diane:
I had been a secret admirer from Japan. Please keep good work. I have been learning from your works a lot! I am especially impressed by your petals(both flowers and animals fur) and shiny surface of those vases and pitchers and toys. Thanks for adding pleasure to my life.

  11. So glad to see you push on past the storm. This painting is so much fun and done in your unmistakably soft creamy style. Love that kitty creamer. You always find the coolest props. I like the way you've brought in so many green and yellow elements. The striped fabric brings is all together. Gorgeous!
