Burgundy Magnolias flower tree branch painting

Burgundy Magnolias Oil on wood each 12" x 12" NFS

These began as companion pces to the pair of sunflower paintings I posted previously. It's funny though: I almost went back in to tweak the sunflowers but forced myself to paint something new. ...and somehow all the fixes I had wanted to do to the sunflowers went into these magnolias. I LOVE how these paintings turned out despite the fact that they now look totally un-related to the sunflowers. Now, I'm thinking to do a pair of tulip companions for the magnolias.

  3. I LOVE these Magnolias! Your colors are wonderful and your brush strokes create fabulous movement and energy. The Sunflowers loss; Magnolias gain.

  6. How beautiful are these??? Very oriental in how delicately painted they are, and in the colors too. Yes - do do the tulips! Perhaps you will end up with a threesome by incorporating harmonies of the magnolias & sunflowers. Can't wait to see what you decide!
