Oh to be young and to enjoy pasta until you're about to explode...good times. My recent art opening at Local Girl Gallery was a professional milestone for me. It's gratifying to see so much of my best work all in one place. The show continues through May 16th... But what to do now?
Before I pick up where I left off with the floral still lifes, I'm going to paint some other subjects. It'll be nice to switch gears for a change. The paintings will be on gesso'd paper. Until I get several more done, I'm not sure if they will be available for purchase or not.

  1. Diane, lovely to see your Gallery shots below. It's quite humbling to see all our work up in one location (only happened to me once but it was humbling, LOL). I really like the unusual composition of this child study and hope you enjoy working on your new themes. It's good to change now and again I think. Just sink into it and enjoy it!

  2. Nice to see your figural work. This liffle buy brings back memories of my son when he was about this age. You captured the gesture perfectly!

  7. What a treat to see what other talents you have up those creative sleeves of yours!
This child is so adorable and the body language really catches that far off daydreamy thing they do when preoccupied. Just charming!

This little guy looks like he is in spaghetti (or as my sons used to say - pa sgetti) heaven. I am really looking forward to seeing your new work. You are sooo good!

  10. Kristeena, yes that is my nephew. I did not get a good likeness... Well, except for his hair. I nailed that. (: ...I seem to be a little stuck at the moment, so a great big thanks to all who've commented. New paintings soon!

  11. Congratulations on your show.

I know exactly how you feel...I paint mostly figure/Portraits, but sometimes I need a break and paint still-lifes or landscapes.

I have enjoyed seeing your work :)
