Wow, as I add little items to my still lifes (like lemons) ideas for more items occur. It's not like I haven't studied a million still life paintings! I know artists have painted old books, cutlery, glasses, toys & shells for hundreds of years, but it all feels new somehow. I love the look of chunky color in this painting. Maybe next time I'll add a few old books.

  2. You are my painting magician when it comes to rendering glass. I love the balance in this painting. Love the addition of the lemons...looking forward to seeing what else is up your sleeve.

  3. I really like your comment that "it all feels new" because it is. What you do with a still life with a book or a lemon has never been done quite the same before, because the hand of the painter remains. That's why I love art so much. For what it's worth, I think your colours sing.
