Daffodils & Daisies Oil Painting

Oil on canvas panel, 20x20, reserved
Once again, my apologies for the poor picture quality. It's raining again and that's the best I could manage. This painting took a beating today, much re-working, re-coloring & re-shaping of things. Joan Breckwoldt had said she liked the bright daffodil shapes on yesterday's version. That got me to thinking I wanted to pop those out a little more, thus the darker background color... which serves to tone down the areas of contrast with the (now) red daisies. If you haven't seen Joan's blog lately, you should! See it here. Thanks, Joan!

  3. Wonderful painting! I love the blue outline! And yes, yellow daffodils + darker background + red daisies make a great combination. I love it!

  4. I'm finally catching up on my blog reading and just wanted to say how much I like the "cut-out" appearance of this piece. It fits well with the composition and gives it an unusual zing!!
