Paint 'em again, Di. Yellow & Red Poppies I & II

Someone-in-the-know told me the first set of square poppies (see a few entries below) had two much distracting dark green stuff/stems at the bottom... This time around I replaced the greens with lighter less offensive colors and wowee, yeppers she surely was right! I LOVE these!!! I may have to do more. Each of these paintings measures 12" x 12" and they are oil on cradled board.
Maybe today, finally will photograph the sunflowers.

  1. Diane, while I think these are successful now in their own right and give emphasis to the flowers I quite liked the dark stems! I think because you have retained some dark outlines to some of the petals the dark stems didn't worry me. Can't wait to see the sunflowers! It's sunflower time again!
